Day 89 – Kuta, Indonesia

I spent most of today at the beach. The tide was high, so what I described yesterday was a low tide. The difference was obvious, with the waves breaking directly by the shore and not far from it.

Well, of course some break far from it, but new waves reform in between.

Their pull is very strong. I came to an agreement with a young couple, we would keep an eye on each other’s bags when going swimming. I didn’t last long in the sea: the fight against the water is hard! And either you stand in sand sloping sharply towards the sea, going in to your ankle, or you don’t touch the seabed at all!

I got dragged around a bit, plunged under the waves, had my fun and went back to dry on the beach.

I went back to the hostel to change then came back for the sunset.

I ended the day with some impromptu shopping. The sarongs here are a lot more colourful than in Yogyakarta! And I found a shop where they are sold at a fixed and reasonable price.
