Trinidad
Day 275 – Port of Spain, Trinidad
I don’t think that I have ever waited that long to leave an airport before. Because of Carnival, probably, many people were arriving at the same time… for a limited number of immigration counters. And since I had left the aircraft with the last people -I was in the back-, I was in the last of the queue too.
At least my backpack was waiting for me when I went to fetch it. Next was the customs check, going faster but still with a long queue.
I was worried for the person who was waiting for me, since it took nearly two hours -we landed earlier, but not enough to make up for it! But unbeknownst to me, he was himself late, and had waited only half an hour. So it ended well!
I was dropped at my destination, meeting my aunt’s brother and sister-in-law for the first time. They offered me quiet day, with a nice long nap, and I got to meet my extended family: their brothers and sisters and children and grandchildren. I’m not sure what degree of cousins that make us, but it was fun. And very nice.
J’imagine comme tu as été bien accueillie! Et oui, cela t’a permis de connaître un peu plus de la famille si sympa de Rosslyn!
TU nous raconteras encore le Caranaval?
