Adventures in Valparaiso
Day 217 – Valparaiso, Chile
Today was a series of little frustrations.
(Well, the breakfast at the hostel was good, so the day started well.)
I took out my nap of the city and decided to tour the area outlined as being a UNESCO Heritage site.
I went down to the harbour (very commercial, little to see), then up in an ascensor (free because they are testing new equipment) that should have led me to a very nice lookout. I couldn’t find how to access the lookout. So back down I went. All that with lots of waking around in unsavoury-looking places, or pretty-but-full-of-street-vendors places.
So ice cream was in order. Banana with dulce de lece and pistaccio. Nice combo. Unfortunately, the stray dog covered in blood that came crawling under my table kind of spoiled the mood. I know, I’m a sensitive little thing.
I finally went back to the hostel and started working on my next travels. I exchange advice with a fellow French traveller who came from the North. But the website that was supposed to sell me my bus ticket was uncooperative… To the point that I couldn’t buy one. Since the bus were all almost full, I wasn’t hopeful of my chances to go to the bus terminal and buying my ticket the next day. At least, not with the company I wanted.
The showers didn’t become bigger in the meantime, so it was again interesting.
Alors, comment vas-tu t’en sortir? Tu nous laisses comme dans une BD à épisodes…Où et comment iras-tu?
