Skydiving!
No, I haven’t been skydiving. Yet. (Bet you believed I did for a few moments, though!)
Taupo is one of the places in New Zealand where you have affordable skydiving possibilities (I’m talking less than €300). With the view over the lake (see picture above), it is a mesmerizing idea.
I have seen quite a few parachutes floating down these last few days and I have given a few thoughts in that direction, but I haven’t made any conclusive decision in either direction yet.
What I’m really seriously thinking of is the Tangorino Alpine Crossing, a day walk touted as one of the best in New Zealand.
The thing is, when they say 6-8 hours’ walk, it must be double that for me -and I doubt I can do it in one day. Maybe I’m not fit enough to do it at all. But it is intriguing, and I’m going to see in what shape I am on my way back North -after looping the South Island-, and see what I can do!
I have yet to write what I did yesterday (soaking into seriously hot pools) because I don’t have a good connexion for my computer, and I’m leaving in a few minutes for Napier. So more later!
Fera, fera pas? le tour bien sûr!
