Malaysia
Day 53 – Penang aka George Town, Malaysia
After a stressful morning where my clean laundry arrived late just before I was supposed to be picked-up for my bus to Malaysia (the bus was also late), I departed in a luxury mini-bus.
The border crossing was one of the easiest, no card to fill (I told you I know my passport number by heart now!), a quick scan of the bags. The journey took 9 hours.
I was well-prepared with a bag full of food: sliced bread, hard-boiled eggs (I love to be able to buy that), Babybel (they also had Laughing Cow cheese), delicious apples that cost me around 1€ each, fruit jelly, chips, and so on.
Malaysia has a 1-hour time difference with Thailand (and thus Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam), the power plugsplugs are different, we are on the UK system, which I discovered fumbling in the dark to charge my phone. Because I thought I was arriving in my dormitory at 8 o’clock when it was 9, by the time I was ready for bed it was officially 10.
I have a new currency to get used to, also. The joys of travelling! At least they have real highways here, complete with toll booths.
My future adventures will start tomorrow!
Si je regarde ton itinéraire, tu es au point 20?
Quelle différence en Malaisie, à part les autoroutes? Je suis curieuse!
On attend la suite!
