Stollmeyer’s castle
Day 280 – Port of Spain, Trinidad
After a bit of shopping (sometimes, just the normality of spending a bit of time in a mall is a good thing in a complicated trip), we went to Stollmeyer’s castle to see an exhibition with traditional carnival costumes.
(I had forgotten my camera, so I took pictures with a temporary phone and they are not very good.)
The castle is a beautiful mansion with turrets, and is part of a strip of old houses called “the magnificent seven houses”. They deserve the name.
The exhibition was on the ground floor, and the first floor was refurbished with original furnitures and stained-glass windows (featured above).
And then we had a late lunch, it was time to pack, and to leave for Grenada (it was hard to go!)
